Electric car percentage in Denmark


Electric car sales in Norway were the global benchmark from the beginning. Electric vehicle adoption happens when you see someone close to you to switch from CO2-car to electric car. Denmark has followed suit and has adopted electric cars. The Danes are the benchmark in the European Union.

Among the private buyers the electric car share is higher than among company buyers. Private persons in Denmark have fully adopted electric cars.

The highest line on the graph shows electric car buyer percentage among private buyers. The lowest line shows electric car buyer percentage among companies. The line in the middle shows the overall electric car percentage in new car sales.

According to dbi-it.dk and mobility.dk, in 2025 there were around 130 different electric cars available in Denmark and almost 130.000 new electric cars were sold in a year.
