Animal-free interior

Burning fossil fuels and creating huge amounts of CO2 as a result should belong to the past. The same is with animal skin as a car interior material. It is not humane and therefore should belong to the past.

Bentley says on their website:

To make one Bentley, 10-15 huge animals are killed. This is not humane.

Luckily, more and more luxury car manufacturers offer animal-free interior options. For example, Porsche offers leather-free interior for the Taycan:

Racing cars have cloth seats and Porsche is a sports car, so, alcantara and cloth are the most sporty choices.

A famous car guy Thomas Majchrzak (Autogefühl) has fought for the cause. In 2015 he said “I do admit I have an agenda… my agenda is compassion.” In 2016 he said: “Leather is chemically processed animal skin that was ripped off an innocent mammal. Who would buy that?” And in 2017 he reached out to automotive CEOs: “Stop combining high trim together with animal skin /-/ luxury and sustainability can be combined”. His action has seen results.
