Self-driving Tesla
Jordan Schiefer of Out of Spec drove from Colorado to Kansas to visit his parents during the winter holidays. He had his Tesla Model 3 drive by itself using the Full Self-Driving feature (FSD version 13).
Travelling with Tesla is almost as easy as to set your destination in the navigation system and let the car do the rest. The only thing the person sitting on the driver’s seat has to do is to keep the eyes on the road (a camera is monitoring the eyes). There is no need to keep your hand on the steering wheel like it is with other cars that have similar systems. The car calculates the charging stops, and drives up to the charger. The driver only has to plug in the car at the charger. So, the last feature to implement is inductive charging and Tesla is already working on it. Tesla is the best.
The speed on the highway was around 80 mph (130 km/h) and the cost of electricity for the 1300 miles (2000 km) round trip was around 100 USD (100 EUR).
