2027 Jaguar Type 01

Dramatic design of the low 5.2 m / 17 ft long body gives the Jaguar Type 01 an imposing presence.

Thanks to rear-wheel steering, this large GT is agile, while the 3.2 m / 10.5 ft wheelbase gives the driver and passengers confidence when cruising at high speeds.

The low roofline was achieved with a trick first used in Porsche Taycan—in order to keep the roof low, there has to be space for the feet of rear seat passengers and it was achieved by not installing batteries under the feet area. Almost no other manufacturer uses this solution because it is more expensive to design and build a battery pack in a shape that is not a rectangular prism.

Jaguar’s battery capacity is 118 kWh and thanks its 850-volt electrical architecture, in 13 minutes it is possible to add up to 200 miles / 320 km of range.

Serving as a long-distance touring vehicle is central to the Type 01’s mission.

Despite looking massive, the Type 01 is also remarkably aerodynamic. Its drag coefficient of just 0.23 makes it the most aerodynamic Jaguar. For perspective, the classic, seemingly much slimmer Jaguar XJ8 has a Cd of around 0.37. Dramatic design and aerodynamic efficiency do not have to be opposites!

Complementing the spectacular appearance are three motors—one at the front axle and two at the rear axle—that give the Jaguar Type 01 a maximum output of 757 kW.

The Type 01 is made in Britain.
