Extreme electric Porsche

Article by Tobias Selerit

Take the already extreme Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package. Now fit it with a full Manthey bodykit and Manthey Track wheels — and the result is outrageous.

Driven by Lars Kern, the heavily modified Taycan stormed around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 55 seconds. Over the 12.947 miles / 20.832 km distance, that equals to an average speed of 112 mph / 180 km/h.

The time is 12 seconds quicker than the already savage Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package and 9 seconds faster than the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. It also puts the electric Porsche ahead of machinery such as the Porsche 918 Spyder, Yangwang U9 Xtreme, Ferrari 488 Pista and Rimac Nevera.

The secret is not more power. Peak output during Launch Control remains unchanged at 760 kW, exactly like the standard Turbo GT. Instead, Manthey focused on grip, braking and aerodynamics.

The aero package increases downforce from 95 kg / 209 lbs to 310 kg / 683 lbs at 124 mph / 200 km/h. At 192 mph / 310 km/h, the Manthey Taycan generates a staggering 740 kg / 1631 lbs of downforce.

The Manthey Track wheels are also wider — two inches wider at the front and one inch wider at the rear — yet lighter than the already lightweight Weissach wheels.

Up front sit massive 440 mm brake discs.

Of course, extreme performance comes at an extreme price. The Manthey conversion for the Taycan Turbo GT Weissach costs as much as a Porsche Taycan 4, an electric Cayenne or an electric Macan GTS.
